One of the advantages of staying in Perea is that you do not have to choose between a city break and a beach holiday. You can swim right below the apartment, but you are also within easy driving distance of some of the best beaches south of Thessaloniki.

These are the ones we would choose depending on the kind of day you want.

Perea Beach

Best for an easy swim without driving

The simplest option is right outside. Perea’s beach runs along the waterfront, with cafés, restaurants and the promenade just behind it.

It is not the beach we would choose for a full-day beach excursion, but it is perfect for a morning swim, a quick dip before dinner, or a slow afternoon when you do not want to get in the car.

Good to know: we provide beach chairs, an umbrella, beach towels and a beach bag — just take them downstairs. The same kit travels with you to Potamos or Agia Triada.

Agia Triada

Best for a quieter nearby afternoon

Just along the coast from Perea, Agia Triada feels calmer and a little less busy.

It is a good choice when you want an easy beach afternoon without travelling far, especially outside the busiest summer weekends.

Potamos Beach, Epanomi

Best for a proper beach day — our overall favourite

If we had to choose one nearby beach for a full day, this would probably be it.

Potamos has a more open, natural feel than Perea, with wider stretches of sand, clearer water and much more space. Parts of the beach are organized, while others feel far more relaxed.

The landscape around Epanomi also makes the trip feel like more than just another beach stop.

Epanomi Shipwreck

Best for something memorable

The shipwreck just offshore near Potamos is one of the most distinctive sights in the area.

On a clear day, the remains are visible through the shallow turquoise water, and the surrounding cape is particularly beautiful from above.

Our tip: combine this with Potamos rather than making it a separate trip.

Nea Iraklia & Nea Kallikratia

Best for families, and a beach day with a lively town

These two neighbouring towns practically run into each other along one long sandy coastline, so we treat them as one stop.

Nea Iraklia is the easy family choice: a broad sandy beach with shallow water and a relaxed atmosphere, with organized sections as well as plenty of space to settle independently. It works particularly well with younger children.

Nea Kallikratia, just along the coast, adds a busier town atmosphere: a long sandy beach with cafés and restaurants behind it. Spend a few hours on the sand, then walk straight into town for lunch, ice cream or an evening meal.

Sani

Best for a full-day treat

Sani is much more than a beach stop.

Come for the beaches, stay for the marina, restaurants and resort atmosphere, and make a full day of it. In summer, it can also be combined with the Sani Festival if there is a concert or event you want to see.

Our pick

If you are staying for several days, we would do both: enjoy the freedom of swimming right below Sunset Terrace, then take one day to explore Potamos and the Epanomi coast.

Effortless seaside living — and one proper beach excursion.

That gives you the best of both. And after a day at the beach, dinner is waiting downstairs — see our favourite restaurants in Perea.
