Perea with Kids: Fun Family Days Near Thessaloniki

Perea is an easy place to stay with children. The beach is right outside, the promenade is flat and walkable, and some of the best family attractions around Thessaloniki are within a short drive.
We keep beach toys for the kids, along with beach chairs, an umbrella, towels and a beach bag — so the easiest family day starts right below the apartment.
For the bigger days out, these are the ones we would choose first.
Waterland
Best for a full summer day
Waterland is the big family day out: pools, slides, wave areas and dedicated spaces for younger children.
It works especially well on a hot day when everyone wants something more active than the beach.

NOESIS Science Center & Technology Museum
Best for curious kids and cooler days
NOESIS combines science and technology exhibitions with a planetarium, screenings and interactive experiences.
It is one of the strongest indoor family options near Thessaloniki and a very good choice when you want something educational without it feeling too serious.

Palm3 Waterpark, Potamos Beach
Best for beach + adventure
Palm3 is a floating inflatable waterpark directly at Potamos Beach, with climbing, balancing, jumping and obstacle-course style fun in the sea.
The best part is that you can combine it with a full beach day and the Epanomi shipwreck nearby — see our beach guide.

MINDloop Watersports, Epanomi
Best for active kids and adventurous families
Try windsurfing, SUP, kayaking or wing surfing on the Epanomi coast, with lessons and equipment available for beginners. Their base sits on a shallow bay with steady winds, which makes it a good place to start.
For something more relaxed, their guided kayak and SUP tours head toward the Epanomi shipwreck and protected coastal wetlands, with snorkelling stops along the way — and a discounted rate for children.
Staying longer? They also run bilingual summer camps for ages 7–16.

Magic Park
Best for an evening of rides
One of the largest amusement parks in Greece, near Mediterranean Cosmos, with roller coasters, giant slides, flying swings, bumper cars, a carousel, a ferris wheel and rides for different ages.
It is a strong evening option once the heat of the day drops (Thessaloniki Travel).

Museum of Illusions, Thessaloniki
Best for an easy indoor city stop
A fun, interactive option that works across a wide age range.
Expect optical illusions, perspective rooms and hands-on exhibits that are more about playing and experimenting than quietly walking through a museum. It is easy to combine with lunch or a walk in central Thessaloniki.
- From Sunset Terrace: around 35–40 minutes, depending on traffic

Thessaloniki Waterfront & White Tower
Best for an easy city day
You do not need a complicated itinerary to enjoy Thessaloniki with children.
Walk the waterfront, stop at the playgrounds, climb the White Tower, rent bikes or scooters, get an ice cream and enjoy the open spaces along the sea. It is one of the easiest ways to experience the city as a family.
