Wineries & Wellness Near Perea: Easy Escapes for a Slower Day

Not every day needs to be about sightseeing.

One of the things we like about staying in Perea is how easy it is to slow the pace: spend a few hours at a winery, book a spa afternoon, and still be back by the sea in time for sunset.

These are the places we would choose first.

Ktima Gerovassiliou, Epanomi

Best for wine, design and a beautiful half-day outing

Ktima Gerovassiliou is the standout winery near Perea and one of the easiest recommendations to make.

Set among vineyards in Epanomi, the estate combines wine tasting, guided winery tours and an excellent Wine Museum. Tours cover the vineyard, production and ageing areas and typically last around 45–60 minutes. Tastings range from Greek grape varieties to comparative vintages and food pairings.

It works particularly well as a late-morning or early-afternoon excursion before heading back toward the coast.

Our tip: check the opening days before going — the estate is closed on Tuesdays and its hours vary by day.

Domaine Florian, Trilofos

Best for wine, food and an easy-going evening

Domaine Florian is smaller and feels more personal than Gerovassiliou.

It sits in the hills around Trilofos, with evening opening hours on several days and a kitchen operating later in the week. That makes it a good choice if you want to combine wine with a slower dinner rather than do a formal daytime winery visit.

Our tip: Domaine Florian runs a lively programme of evening events — check what is on during your stay.

Kechris Winery

Best for discovering modern retsina

For something distinctly Greek, Kechris offers a different kind of wine experience.

The family winery is particularly known for retsina and has played an important role in showing how refined this traditional Greek wine can be. Visits can include guided cellar tours, tastings and dedicated retsina experiences alongside the winery’s other labels.

It is a good choice if you want to learn something genuinely specific to Greek wine rather than simply visit another vineyard.

Our tip: visits and tastings are generally by appointment, so arrange your visit in advance.

Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki · ANAGE Spa

Best for a polished wellness escape close to Perea

Set in landscaped gardens near Thessaloniki Airport, Hyatt Regency offers one of the closest resort-style wellness experiences to Perea.

ANAGE Spa is complemented by indoor and outdoor pools, fitness and leisure facilities, making it a good option when you want a relaxed half-day without driving far into Thessaloniki or Halkidiki.

Access for non-hotel guests and day-use options can vary by season and availability, so contact the hotel or spa before going.

Our tip: this is the one to check first if you want a more resort-like spa experience while staying close to Sunset Terrace.

September City Wellness

Best for a spa afternoon without going far

If you want a wellness break without turning it into a full-day excursion, September City Wellness is one of the most convenient options around Thessaloniki.

It is the kind of place we would choose for a few quiet hours away from the beach: indoor pool, sauna, steam and treatment time, then back to Perea for dinner.

Our tip: day-spa packages and prices change, so check current availability and book ahead.

Afrodita Roa Spa, Nea Potidea

Best for a full destination-spa day

This is the more substantial wellness option.

Afrodita Roa Spa at Pomegranate Wellness Spa Hotel is a 1,800 m² spa with seawater pool, Byzantine hammam, saunas, salt bath, hydrotherapy, cold-water experiences and a large treatment menu. Day visitors are welcome by reservation, so you do not need to stay at the hotel.

The Spa Park is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00 and is available to guests aged 14 and over.

This is the one to choose if you want the spa itself to be the destination.

Make a day of it

Wine + coast

Visit Ktima Gerovassiliou in Epanomi, continue to Potamos Beach or the Epanomi coast, then head back to Sunset Terrace for sunset.

Wine + dinner

Spend the afternoon at Domaine Florian and stay for wine, food or one of its evening events.

Spa + Perea

Spend a few hours at Hyatt, September City Wellness or Afrodita Roa, then return to the Perea waterfront for dinner.

Our ideal slow day

Late breakfast by the sea, a winery visit in Epanomi or Trilofos, then back to Sunset Terrace before sunset.

Or, on a cooler or cloudier day, spend the afternoon at the spa and come back for dinner along the Perea waterfront — see our favourite restaurants in Perea.

A stay here does not have to revolve around the beach.

It is a different side of the area — and on the days you do want the sea, here are the beaches we would choose.
